Last week we focused on usabililty and being able to add polls and multiple surveys. This feature can help teachers get an idea about how there students are going in school as long as what they want to learn about in the classroom. By using polls and surveys to ask various questions and to get there opinions across,to the students body. These polls can be used for the simpliest ideas, like what chapter should they do next to what type of project would they like to do, on the unit they are currently learning about.

As of this week the website is going along well. With some cool additions to website, mainly in the form of widgets. These widgets focus’s on the weather, calorie burning to check how many calories you are burning during your workout sessions. The third widget we are using is an ESPN widget that show us current articles and scores from ESPN. These can all be essential to current athletites using the site.

Next week or by the end of next week i plan on start designing the remaining pages for the website, to reach the 5 page minimum. What i hope to do is have a page with the schedule up on one page and page just for the captains of the team to show there expectations and goals for the season as well as a place were they can post captains practices.

Last week, we started focusing on are website usability and overall design. we did this by adding widgets that aloud people with needs to only read the website as text based only sites. Instead of sites that have millions of pictures and design features. We also started to work on redesigning are home pages. To feature a special are on the side where all of a pages will be with the amount of blogs pertaining to that focus of that page.

So for the week of 5/12 to 5/16 we started putting the addition of widgets to are project blogs. We used widgets from google and widgetbox. As of right now i have added about three widgets to by project blog and about two blogs on my own blog to test so things that might be useful to my project site.

So this week we started working on finding and adding widgets to are project sites. We were able to find these widgets off sites like google and widgebox. On these sites there are endless amounts of widgets and programs to build your own widgets for use on social sites like facebook and myspace or for sites like edublogs. The widget builder application let us build widgets like exercise routine programs or schedule programs to help students get back on track for assignments they are missing.

So this week, we started phase 2 of are project websites. We started off on Monday by learning how to use Microsoft paint to create cool signs that we can then put them into are blog side bars. This is a really cool feature that is fun and easy for everyone to use. By Wednesday we started working on widget concepts and how to take widgets from site on the Internet to sites like edublogs and facebook.

By Thursday we were working on finding widgets that we thought were useful to are own blogs and how to post them on are project blog. we were also told to put up NO GAMES ON EITHER SITE!!!We also practiced putting random widgets(no Game ones) on are private blogs in anticipation of moving them to are project blogs for meaning purposes.

So today was really a catch up day and additional work day if needed. Today most of us started playing catch up to are reflections and submitting are progress logs onto are sites. I also started to fine tune which widgets i want to submit to my advisor. This weekend i plan on getting at least 2 of the five widgets to my advisor.

As of right now my project is going strong and is on the right track so far. This week i starting getting the basics set up. By establishing a theme and putting the necessary widgets to make the site easier for people to use. Right now i am looking for new cool widgets that are useful.

Soon in plan to start setting up a schedule of the season starting working on tutorial videos. To show students how to conduct certain events in Track & Field. Hopefully some can encourage some students to join and participate in those events.

My long term goals for the website is to develop a Track Tutorial on certain events. Also i want to get the website further, then it is right now. I think with a little elbow grease and some free time at my computer i can get this website to were it needs to be. I also need to make sure that site can be some usefull information on the track website.

Studies are being made now to see were most internet users look, when they first look at an website. For most people it is the top left corner of the website and the right side bar of the website. Due to recent research internet admins are changing the face of there websites to make sure they can get the most out of there websites. To fully please, there viewing abilities and to best sell there product or information, to the general public.

Right now we are starting to begin focusing on are teacher websites. These websites are set to focuse on certain areas. They include tutorials, instructional videos, and more to come.

In the beginning of the week we worked on embeding text in widgets. By using voki’s to create an online welcome source to our websites. Which are cool little gismos. These voki’s can draw in viewers to your websites.
